King Charles III will shortly return to his public Royal duties after a period of treatment after his cancer diagnosis, Buckingham Palace announced on Friday.

"The King and Queen will make a joint visit to a cancer treatment centre next Tuesday, where they will meet medical specialists and patients. This visit will be the first in a number of external engagements His Majesty will undertake in the weeks ahead," the statement read.

It revealed that the Royal couple will receive and host the Emperor and the Empress of Japan during their visit to the UK in June.

The King will make a return to his Royal duties and public engagements to make the first year of his Coronation celebrations.

"Their Majesties remain deeply grateful for the many kindnesses and good wishes they have received from around the world throughout the joys and challenges of the past year," the statement concluded.

In March, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III was diagnosed with a form of cancer after conducting a procedure for benign prostate enlargement.

After conducting further examinations, a form of cancer was identified.
