CAIRO, Dec.18(SEE)- Many stars will  be honored at the 2019 Golden Globes. Oscar-winning actor ''Jeff Bridges'' will receive a lifetime achievement award at January’s 2019 ceremony for his wide range of work from Western “True Grit” to comedy “ Big Lebowski”, Reuters reported on Monday.

The award will be handed out at Jan. 6 Golden Globes telecast in Beverly Hills, California.

"Bridges" joins an elite list of icons who have made their mark on ''Hollywood'' and have been acknowledged by the ''Hollywood Foreign Press Association'' for their outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.

The 69-year-old actor has been nominated for five Golden Globes and won once for his role as a faded country music star in 2009 drama “Crazy Heart" that performance also earned Bridges an Oscar.

In 1983, ''Bridges'' founded the ''End Hunger Network'', a nonprofit dedicated to feeding children globally. He co-executive produced the 1996 television film "Hidden in America," which focused on poverty in America.

In addition to Bridges, dozens more stars have received the honor since Cecil B. DeMille himself in 1952. Among those well-known names are Walt Disney, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, Robin Williams and Meryl Streepand, of course, last year's honoree, Oprah Winfrey.

The Globes next year is also adding the ''Carol Burnett Award'', an accolade that focuses on life achievement in television. The inaugural award will go to the 85-year-old Burnett, a five-time winner at the Globes.
