IIPT Awards Mashat for Developing Tourism in 2018

CAIRO. March 9 (SEE) - Tourism Minister Rania Al Mashat received "Celebrating Her" award from the International Institute For Peace Through Tourism (IIPT) in recognition of her pioneering role in developing the Egyptian tourism sector in 2018.

Iceland's First Lady and Special Ambassador for Tourism and the Sustainable Development Goals for the UNWTO Eliza Jean Reid handed over the prize to Mashat during the events of ITB Berlin.

Mashat said: "I dedicate such a great award on the fringe of the International Women's Day to the Egyptian women who highly had an effective impact on their societies and assumed leading positions," thanking her team at the Tourism Ministry and the private sector.

"The ministry's reform program pays attention to women to maximize its role in developing the sector," the minister noted.

IIPT is a non-profit organization which is dedicated to fostering and facilitating tourism initiatives which contribute to international understanding and cooperation, improved quality of the environment, the preservation of heritage, and through these initiatives, helping to bring about a peaceful and sustainable world.
