Heliopolis University students participate in the Robocon International Competition

CAIRO, JUNE 23 (SEE) President of Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development Yousry Hashem, announced on Thursday the participation of the students of the Faculty of Engineering in the "Robocon" International Robotics Competition.

Yousry added, the competition is an annual international competition sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Federation for students of universities, colleges and technical institutes and aims to create friendships among youth with similar interests, giving them a leading role in the 21st century.

In addition to contributing to the development of engineering and radio techniques, the winning team will travel to the Vietnamese city of Ninh Binh  next August.

Dr. Rasha Al Khouly, Dean of the Faculty, stressed that the University of Heliopolis is keen to keep its students in constant contact with every day technology in the world of robotics, she also encourages students to participate in such competitions, which gives them the opportunity to innovate and communicate with their peers from all over the world.

Al-Khouly added, the idea of ​​the competition is based on completing a task within a specified period of time using own developed robots. The quality of the task required from the contestants varies from year to year and is inspired by the civilization of the country where the international competition is held, in order to create an atmosphere of persity, creativity and acquaintance among civilizations.
