CAIRO, Jan. 3 (SEE) – Every day, one learns more about treasures that do exist at home, and we never thought of consuming them as what should be.
‘SEE’ is always keen to provide its readers with what helps them to return back to nature to improve their health but all their life style.
As we are living in the coldest time at Egyptian winter, it is important to know about what keeps us active and healthy. And in this piece, we continue to provide you with benefits of some beverages that we might be drinking without an intention to take them seriously as alternatives to supplements or, perhaps, medicines.
The generous content is provided by Dr. Hisham Elamry, Professor of nutrition, member at the American Society of Nutrition. He is also a member at Egyptian British Society for the Study of Obesity Diseases.
1. Barley: Boil well then drain the water and put a teaspoon of lemon juice on each cup and sweet with honey and drink two cups before bedtime and one in the morning with much eating of parsley leaves or green sticks
2. Ginger: It can work as pain killer by boiling ginger leaves or dry roots in small amount of water until it almost evaporates, then get the remains of the ginger and put it inside a piece of a bandage And then place it on the skin in the painful area (which is often the place of pain in the kidney or ureter while intercepting the gallstones or Gallbladder).
3. Peppermint: The juice of dry mint leaves is used in the non-concentration of urine and therefore protect from formation of stones.
4. Grass: This herb prevents the occurrence of kidney stones: and reduces disorders caused by them. This happens as it prepares the unconscious muscle to relax during pain. The grass has a part above the ground and part underground. Making a beverage is by getting the part underground, cut, and soaks for 15 minutes.
5. Reeds: Cane juice is diuretic and prevents concentration of salts and thus prevents the formation of stones or the removal of them if they already present in the urinary tract.
6. Grapes: Drink fresh grape juice, get the grape seeds in the blender, filter and add drops of lemon juice and drink half a liter every evening before sleeping.
