Farida Osman wins gold medal at African Swimming Championship

CAIRO Sept 13 (SEE): Egyptian swimmer Farida Osman who is the fastest swimmer in Egypt and Africa, won gold medal in 50m butterfly competition in 26.16 seconds at the African Swimming Championship in Algeria.

The 23-year-old golden fish also won silver medal in 100m freestyle days ago.

31 Countries are participating in the championship that runs till Sept 16.

Osman, who started swimming at the age of 5  at the Gezira Sporting Club, won before gold medal in the 50m backstroke with a time of 31.04 seconds.

She broke the African record by by finishing 12th in the 100 fly at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
