EUE Signs Twinning Agreement with Spanish Counterpart

CAIRO, Nov. 29 (SEE)- Mahmoud Hashem, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the European University in Egypt (EUE), which is being established in the new administrative capital, said on Wednesday that he was delighted to sign a twinning agreement with the Polytechnic University of Spain.

"The EUE will be the first of its kind, which works in collaboration with the national agenda and the vision of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, who considers education the cornerstone of development and progress," Hashem said.

He pointed out to the depth of historical relations between Egypt and Spain in various fields, especially in the philosophical ones.

"Today we confirm the continuation of cooperation at the educational level, where the objectives of the two universities are based on the internationalization of education," Hashem added.

He noted that despite the recent establishment of the University, contributors are distinguished groups of Egyptian professors and former university presidents, who have extensive experience in the field, and willing to serve the Egyptian society and future generations.

Hashem pointed out that Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research works on overcoming all bureaucratic impediments facing the establishment of new universities in Egypt.

Nasser Kamel, Secretary General of the Mediterranean Union, Francesc Torres, President of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Joan Perez, Vice President, Felix Solaguren, Dean of the School of Architecture, Tamer El-Khorazaty and Yasser Mansour, members of the Board of Trustees were among the attendees.

The Polytechnic University of Spain is 22nd in the world ranking in the fields of architecture and environmental buildings, 8th in the European ranking, and 1st in the Spanish ranking.

The university offers Bachelors of Architecture and Landscape as well as Advanced Studies in Architecture and Design.
