CAIRO, Jan 31 (SEE)- Since a very young age, Engineer Mina kaldas admired cars and learned to disassemble and install his own bicycle and toys.

kaldas, who is specialized in the development of "auxiliary" car suspension systems, developed a software for one of the biggest automaker in Germany, Ford.

Taking advantage of his father's workshop, who was the head of the cooling department at the Faculty of Engineering Minia University, Kaldas studied at the same college and received a master's degree in the same field.

Automobiles grew to become his passion and later a profession. The 38-year-old traveled to Germany to complete his practical studies in one of the world's largest automaker Ford.

Despite his father's objection, his motivation and passion pushed him towards the automotive industry. "Education at the university was restricted to maintenance rather than manufacturing, and from this point, I began to complete my Ph.D. studies in Germany, a country that is characterized by the automotive industry," kaldas said.

"Egypt set a foot in the automotive industry in the 1960s," he noted, adding that with the right experience and collaboration the country can easily produce its own vehicles.

Thanks to Aref Soliman, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Banha University, for encouraging him to apply for Ph.D. opportunities in Germany.

For the German visa, kaldas contacted a German professor, who accepted his Ph.D. proposal, and thus he was granted a visa to complete his scientific research in the area of his interest.

Kaldas said in an interview with Sada El-Balad English (SEE) that the practical part of the research and the language were the biggest challenges he faced during his stay in Germany. He explained that Egypt has decent theoretical education yet lacks practical one."

"I worked hard to be able to work in one of the most successful ventures, who appreciated my interpretership proposal, and from that point on, I worked in the most important car factories in the world," he concluded.

My hard work paid off and my great passion led me to work in one of the most successful vehicle manufacturers in the world," he concluded.
