Egyptian Amb. meets Serbian tourists before visiting Hurghada

BELGRADE, SEPT 2 (SEE)- Egyptian Ambassador in Belgrade Amr Al-Jowaily met representatives of the Serbian media and the Association of Permanent Travelers before their visit to Hurghada as a culmination of the steady increase of tourism to Egypt.

Al-Jowaily highlighted the positive developments witnessed in the growth of tourism from Serbia to Egypt, pointing to the high number of visas issued by the Embassy in Belgrade during the year 2018. "The average increase in the number of visas issued is 60 percent, reaching its peak to 122 percent last June, compared to the same month in the previous year."

During the meeting, Al-Jowaily reviewed the most significant future tourism initiatives, especially the ones related to reviving the path of the Holy Family, the establishment of the northern coast city of New Alamein and the completion of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

"Around 90 percent of Serbian tourists favor Red sea resorts," he said, adding that a new twinning agreement between the city of Marsa Alam and the city of Jagodina is underway.

He pointed out that Serbian media accompanying tourists to Egypt will be a positive experience, reflecting the appreciation of the Egyptian tourism industry in Serbia.
