BEIJING, Sept 14 (SEE) - A new released report showed that Egypt is among the five African destinations that attract Chinese tourists.

As several Chinese tourists travel around the world searching for unique experiences as well as a cultural education, the media are focusing on their preferred destinations.

A 2018 Chinese Tourism in Africa Report, published by the Chinese travel and tourism company CYTS Tours Holding Co., Ltd.’s (CYTS), showed that destinations in Africa have seen a 40% annual increase in Chinese tourists in the last two years.

The surprise in the report was that Egypt topped the five destinations in Africa followed by Mauritius, Kenya, South Africa, and Tunisia.

CYTS said that Chinese travelers are interested in cultural tours, personalized tours, as well as hunting tours on the continent.

"The majority of Chinese travelers to Africa spend on average $1464-2196 per capita. While 41% of travelers fall into that category, 28% spend up to $2928 on their trips," the CYTS report read.
