Egypt Succeeds in Repatriating Citizen from Libya after 18 months of Disappearance

The Egyptian Minister of State for Immigration Nabila Makram stated on Saturday that the ministry responded to a request submitted by an Egyptian citizen stating that his brother had disappeared in Libya 18 months ago.

The minister added, that immediately, the ministry began communicating and coordinating with the relevant authorities in both Egypt and Libya to identify the circumstances of the situation, provide legal assistance or release him in the event of non-conviction, and by communicating with the brothers in Libya and in coordination with state agencies, the Egyptian citizen was released.

The ministry was keen to follow up on a regular basis until he returned safely to the homeland.

It called on Egyptians abroad to preserve their personal safety by staying away from places of tension.

According to the brother, the Egyptian citizen was working for a Libyan company, but he was arrested there without knowing the reasons.
