CAIRO, March 22 (SEE) - Surely, people suffer from skin burns which damage skin layers. Although there are different types and severity of burns, all of them need quick medical care.

It is known that there are three common types of burns; first-degree burn, second-degree burn, and third-degree burn. The first degree infects the outer layer of the skin, while the second degree infects the lower layer of the skin. The third-degree burn goes through the dermis and affects deeper tissues.

Dr. Baher El Saeed, a well-known pharmacist on Facebook, stresses the importance of healing the first-degree burn within one minute after it happens, advising the burned skin should be held under cool running water for 15 to 20 minutes.

During his weekly interview with InBox TV program, aired on Sada El Balad channel, Saaed stated that burns should be tended by a vaseline bandage which should be changed once a day to reduce the pain and for wound healing.

“Using balms that contain beeswax or cactus extract highly contributes to injury healing as soon as possible,” he added, affirming that scrubbing balms should be in one way not back and forth.

"Sometimes this method can be applied with the second-degree burns," he noted.

He also warned of traditional methods which are common in the Egyptian society to treat burns with butter or ice or toothbrush or flour.

On other context, Saeed advised the audience to drink anise if someone's pressure reached high levels and liquorice in case of suffering from low blood pressure.
