Cody Rhodes to Defend WWE Title against AJ Styles at Backlash

WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will have his first title defense against AJ Styles at WWE Backlash on May 4.

Styles earned this title shot win after defeating LA Knight in the final of the mini tournament to determine the #1 contender for the WWE title.

Cody Rhodes, the American Nightmare, finished his story and defeated the Tribal Chief and the Head of the Table Roman Reigns in a historical and outstanding WrestleMania main event.

In a stacked Bloodline Rules match, Reigns and Rhodes did their best to deliver a historical main event that represented the kicking off of a new WWE era under the reign of Tripe H.

The impressive contest witnessed historical interferences by John Cena, the Undertaker, The Rock, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins with the Shield and Jimmy Uso.

After the match, various WWE Superstars, icons, officials, and Rhodes family members celebrated with the newly-crowned champion.
