CAIRO, Nov. 30 (SEE) – Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar announced that the Cabinet agreed on a presidential decree on an agreement signed between the Egyptian Higher Education Ministry and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs to establish a branch for Berlin International University of Applied Sciences in Egypt.
The inked agreement was signed during President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s recent visit to Germany.
The university, supposed to be set up in the New Administrative Capital, will cover several domains such as engineering, architecture, informatics, computer science, economics and business administration, public administration, production technology, agricultural science, biotechnology, food industry technology, tourism, design, restoration, and pharmaceutical technology.
Most of the university’s teaching staff will be Germans and the admission rules will be similar to the original university in Germany.
Furthermore, the cabinet agreed on turning the Institute Of African Research & Studies of Cairo University to a faculty of African studies, according to Abdel Ghaffar.
