The British University in Egypt opened "BUE –Science Park" and "BUE –Nanotechnology center" in presence of its President of in Egypt Professor Ahmed Hamad, Dr. Magdy Yaqoub, World Heart Surgeon, and Dr. Farouk El-Baz, the world's most famous astronaut, at the Science and Knowledge Day.
Prof. Hamad said the BUE is still ranked as the top of
the accredited private universities as per QS ranking, in addition to being the
top among Egyptian private Universities as per US News Ranking.
He announced the launching of BUE-LSBU "project Echo" for the international Branch Campus "IBC" at November 2018.

With collaboration of a world – wide experiences of scientist from states such as Japan and China, BUE's president reviewed last year's main achievements. He added that the institution started feasibility studies for expanding the BUE- Enterprises in the investment area at the west –bank of Suez- Canal at El- Sokhna to have the first "Industrial park"in an Egyptian university.
Regarding academic staff and teaching assistants' percentage
from 1/6 till 12/11/2018, He said that it reached 7.6% for UK and 12.6% for EG.
As for Administration and Support staff, He noted that the percentage was -1.9%
for EG and 33% for UK that for Admin staff, 1.1% for Support staff
Professor Ahmed Hamad said: "Student affairs,Admission office received 14,697 applications including 11216 online applications represent 76% of total applications and 3,481 hand submitted applications represent 24% of the total applications. The numbers of accepted students are 2,495 representing 98% of the university target."

He expressed the numbers of students (as per highschool qualifications) with high academic achievements who got 90% and over are1,104 represented 44% of the total accepted students. The numbers of studentswith good academic achievements who got 75% and over are 1,015 representing 41%of the total accepted students. The numbers of students with good academic achievements who got below 75% are 376 representing 15% of the total accepted students.

On other hand, BUE's boss showed the international
centers at BUE, one of them was CEMES Center "Center of Egypt and Middle
East Studies" which participated with the faculty of arts, Humanities in
organizing a working session with Beijing language and Culture University of
China "BLCU" for joint – degree for the undergraduate 1+2+1 project.
And the other center is the center of Egypt Africa, the first African club was
created at the university to develop a work program for 2019. That includes the
simulation of the African Union model the celebration of Africa Day and
arranging field visits to African Ambassadors Group.
A
seminar on latest Developments in the Horn of Africa and Red Sea Security is
being prepared in cooperation with the Egyptian Council.
