Al Ahly Become 1st African, Arabic Team to Reach 5 Successive Champions League Finals

On Friday, Al Ahly defeated Congo's Mazembe in the second leg of the CAF Champions League semi-final at Cairo International Stadium 3-0 to advance to the final of the tournament.

The goals were scored by Mohamed Abdel Moniom, Wissam Abu Ali, and Akram Tawfik. The game also witnessed a new record for Ali Maaloul to be the most one who had assists in his position in Africa.

The Red Devils managed to set a new record by qualifying for the final of the most prestigious club competition in Africa for the fifth successive CAF Champions League final, and the 17th in their history.

The historical record that is held only by the La Liga giants Real Madrid. The Royal club is the only one which reached 5 consecutive final matches.

Al Ahly will face ES Tunis in the final of the tournament in May.
