CAIRO, March 17 (SEE)- I’ve been told by an Egyptian friend and scientist living abroad for years that Egyptian media is totally absent in Canada and nobody comments on all issues being raised in or outside Egypt.

There are tireless efforts exerted by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to raise Egypt’s name high in his tours around USA, France, Italy, Germany, China and East Asian countries.

Also, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry is always keen on clarifying Egypt’s point of view regarding all fields and in all international forums.

So, it’s unbelievable to waste all these resources and leave the outside arena totally empty in front of counter disinformation.

Egypt is being exposed to smear campaigns from the Muslim Brotherhood and their financial institutions while nobody replies.

What we really need right now is to have active Egyptian media outlets in all countries; as media is strong power that deeply affect public opinion in the whole world and this couldn’t be attained with the current poor performance and unprofessional level.

We urgently need an expanded conference to discuss status of Egyptian media abroad and how to restore its effective role and responsibilities.
