Abou El-Enein Meets Bill Gates, FIFA President in Ethiopia

CAIRO, Feb. 10 (SEE)- Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) Mohamed Abou El-Enein met on Sunday with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, founder of Microsoft Bill Gates, and former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo on the sidelines of the 32nd Ordinary Session of the African Union Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Abou El-Enein addressed the session of the Textile Industry Promotion Initiative in the presence of the Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde.

He stressed that Egypt's presidency of the African Union (AU) will contribute a substantial force to achieve sustainable development, promote peace, security and economic integration in the continent.

He carried messages of appreciation from African leaders to President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

"African leaders praised Egypt's experience on development and stability during the last four years, confident that Sisi will succeed during his presidency of the AU," he noted.

He asserted that Egypt's experience in development, infrastructure and attracting potential investment targets is an influential model for African countries, "I call on all African countries to consolidate towards implementing regional projects including infrastructure, roads, railways, and electricity, he affirmed, adding that construction and infrastructure is one of the main challenges undermining the development of the continent.

The rotating presidency of the AU for the year 2019 was transferred from Rwanda to Egypt. President Sisi assumed the chairmanship of the AU on Sunday.
