On Saturday, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Imposed personal sanctions on his Syrian counterpart, Bashar al-Assad.
According to the text of his decree, which was published today, Saturday, the sanctions are imposed for a period of 10 years and require the freezing of his accounts, the ban on withdrawing capital from Ukraine, the termination of the fulfilment of economic and financial obligations, and the ban on the transfer of technologies and intellectual property rights.
Sanctions have also been imposed on Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad and Prime Minister Hussein Arnous.
