Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently disclosed that the current strength of the Ukrainian army stands at about 880,000 personnel.

In an interview with ARD, when asked about the size of the Ukrainian military, Zelensky stated, "We have 880,000, we have a million soldiers.

At the same time, we have 30,000 people working now, I can't mention the exact number. Abroad, we have 6.5-7.5 million people, and I can't provide a specific figure."

This revelation marks a significant increase in the reported size of the Ukrainian armed forces.

Previously, in December 2023, Zelensky had stated that the strength of the Ukrainian ground forces exceeded 600,000 personnel. This surge in military personnel is indicative of Ukraine's commitment to bolstering its defense capabilities.

As of February 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces comprised nearly 260,000 personnel, with around 250,000 belonging to the ground forces.

The substantial growth in the number of military personnel since then underscores Ukraine's determination to enhance its national security and military readiness.

President Zelensky's disclosure comes amid ongoing tensions in the region and heightened concerns over Ukraine's security.

The increase in the size of the Ukrainian army demonstrates the country's resolve to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The international community will closely monitor developments in Ukraine as it continues to strengthen its military capabilities.
