Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the authorities in Kyiv are doing their best to start negotiations on EU membership in 2023.
"We are doing everything we can so that Ukraine will be ready this year to start negotiations on membership in the European Union," Zelensky said in a video message he posted on his Telegram channel.
Earlier, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Affairs, Olga Stefanyshina said that the Ukrainian authorities do not have enough time to implement all the seven recommendations of the European Commission, which are specified to reach the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union, before October, but they are working on this matter.
