Ivan Zyuulu was sworn in as the next ambassador to China on Thursday by Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, who urged him to quickly study about how China and other Asian countries had been able to expand their economies.

Hichilema said Zyuulu was heading to a nation that has proved economic achievement through hard work when he swore in Zyuulu as the next ambassador to China and other diplomats.

He asserted that many individuals in China and other nations, including Malaysia and the Republic of Korea (ROK), had been able to escape poverty, adding that this achievement was the result of hard labour rather than chance.

President Hichilema emphasised that people who are appointed to serve in government should view it as an honour and must make sure that they work hard. "When you are there, please go and extract value from there and come and share it with us," he added.
