Egyptian reports claimed on Wednesday that Zamalek interim committee could sack manager Jaimie Pacheco within days.

The decision could be taken after the Portuguese coach lost two titles in less than two weeks after suffering a 2-1 deafest to Al Ahly in CAF Champions League final, before suffering a shock loss to Al Gish in Egypt Cup semi-finals.

The reports added that the committee will hold a meeting with the manager to terminate the contract signed between two parties.

Egypt’s Youth and Sports Ministry formed on Sunday a new interim Committee to run Zamalek club affairs.

“In the light of the Youth and Sports Ministry’s decision regarding the suspension of Zamalek’s board of directors, the Ministry formed a new interim committee, whose task is to run the club affairs according to the Egyptian Sports Law and the statute of the Zamalek Club,” the Egyptian Ministry said in a statement.

The Members of the Interim Committee are as follows:

  • Judge / Ahmed Bakry Mohamed Hamida, President of Cairo Appeal Court
  • Judge / Hisham Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, President of Cairo Appeal Court
  • First Advocate-General, Mohamed Sayed Ahmed
  • It is worth mentioning that the ministry had said in a statement that the current board of directors will be temporarily excluded till the conclusion of the public prosecution investigations.

The decision is based on the conclusion reached by the financial and administrative inspection committee assigned by the Egyptian Ministry to examine several financial and administrative violations.

    The Decision is as follows:

    1. Financial violations in committee report referred to public prosecution,

    2. Zamalek’s board of directors, executive manager, and financial director will be temporarily suspended from managing club affairs until conclusion of the public prosecution investigations,

    3. Youth and Sports committee in Giza will run the club affairs, form an interim committee to run the club affairs, selecting executive director, who will be added to the committee.
