Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stressed that Russia cannot be excluded from the UN Security Council, explaining that such a mechanism does not exist.
"Sergey Lavrov has responded that there is no such a mechanism, but they can make up, invent some formulas. There is just no such a procedure," Zakharova said in a response to the question of Russia’s possibility to be removed from the UNSC on Thursday.
