Google's video service has suffered a sudden malfunction and the website's page suddenly crashed and was unable to play any videos, and displayed the following message:
An error occurred. Please try again later. Playback ID.
For its part, YouTube immediately said it was "working on fixing an error on its platform".
"Youtube down" hashtag topped Twitter, amid questions about the causes of the malfunction that afflicted the site.
Downdetector.com, which monitors website malfunctions, said that this malfunction affected about 250,000 users.
