15 members of the security belt forces were killed and wounded, as a result of two separate explosions in a town in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen.
Field sources said that 7 soldiers were killed and 8 others were wounded in two separate explosions with explosive devices in Wadi Omran, Mudiya district, east of Abyan governorate.
According to the sources, one of the explosions targeted a military patrol of the Southern Transitional Council forces, which passed down Wadi Amran in Abyan, while the other explosion targeted a water tanker.
The sources pointed out that some of the wounded are in critical condition, which makes the number of victims likely to rise.
The identity of the parties behind the two bombings was not known, while it is likely that al-Qaeda elements are behind the attack, in conjunction with similar attacks in the Directorate from time to time, which have intensified in the past weeks.
