Within weeks, the world is approaching 8 billion people, in light of the enormous challenges facing humanity today, exacerbated by the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which in turn came after another crisis that swept the entire world represented by the “COVID-19” pandemic.

Forecasts issued on "World Population Day" indicate that the world's population will reach 8 billion people by next November 15, which is something that United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described, in a comment published a few days ago, as "a good time to admire the developments in the field of health that led to a significant longevity and lower maternal and child mortality.”

In this context, Natalia Kanem, Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund, called on the world not to engage in "population panic".

"I realize that this moment may not be celebrated by everyone," she said.

She added that some are expressing fears about a world with too many people and not enough resources to sustain their lives.
