Ukraine, World Leaders Wish Muslims Eid Mubarak (Video)

Muslims around the world celebrated Eid al-Fitr on Monday, and the world leaders sent their greatest wishes to all who are enjoying this joyous occasion.

Despite the Russian invasion, the Ukrainian army stood together, forming a choir to congratulate Muslims on Eid Al-Fitr.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wished all Muslims an Eid Mubarak! “I’d like to wish a joyous and blessed Eid al-Fitr to Muslims here in the UK and around the world gathering with friends, families and neighbours to mark the end of Ramadan,” Johnson said in a video posted on Twitter.

In like manner, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wished his fellow Canadians on this happy day “I’m sending my warmest wishes to all Muslims who are celebrating Eid al-Fitr and marking the end of Ramadan. After a month of prayer, fasting, and giving back, I hope you’re able to enjoy this time of celebration and community.”

On their part, U.S. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill wished Muslims in the United States and around the world; "May the spirit of community, compassion, and service we have witnessed over the month continue throughout the year."

"The Holy Qur’an urges people to stand firmly for justice and reminds us that we were created as nations and tribes so that we may get to know one another," a statement issued by the White House read.

"This year, we will resume the tradition of celebrating Eid at the White House, and of honouring the inspiring Muslim Americans who are leading efforts to build greater understanding and unity across our nation."

In addition, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan thanked God "for bringing us, as a nation, to another Eid al-Fitr in health and well-being."

Erdoğan congratulated all his brothers and sisters living abroad and the entire Islamic world Eid Mubarak.

Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa extended his best wishes to all Muslims across the globe.

"Even amidst the difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Japan and Muslim countries have steadily bolstered relations in a wide range of areas including politics, security, economy and culture," he said. "I wish you all a happy and peaceful celebration. Eid Mubarak!"

Moreover, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres wrote on Twitter: “As we celebrate #EidAlFitra, the @UN stands in full solidarity with the people of the Sahel.”

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris also took it to Twitter to send the warmest wishes to all who are celebrating Eid al-Fitr.

Also, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken extended his greetings to all those celebrating around the world and right here at home. "To the Muslims unable to observe Eid due to war, violence, or persecution, we wish EidMubarak and stand with you in pursuit of justice and peace."
