Vladimir Didkov, Russian expert at the World Health Organization (WHO) team ruled out the possibility of a new coronavirus leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology's laboratory in China.

Didkov, who is also deputy director of the Pasteur Institute for Research in Epidemiology and Microbiology in Saint Petersburg,  Russia, stressed that the laboratory of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which has been accused of leaking the coronavirus, is being constructed beyond praise, and it is very difficult to imagine a leak from there.

Today, Wednesday, WHO experts who are currently in Wuhan visited the Wuhan Institute of Virology, including the highly isolated BSL-4 laboratory, to which rumors of an alleged "leak" of the virus, or a possible synthetic origin of "COVID-19," were linked to it".

The Russian expert said in this regard: "For the sake of our mission, of course, it was important of course for our mission to visit such an institution, to communicate with Chinese colleagues, to see how everything is being organized there. The Chinese organization is good. I do not know who criticized them, the laboratory was built beyond praise." It's very hard for me to imagine that something from there could leak."

The Russian expert pointed out that everything is theoretically possible, adding: "But first, there is no indication to that, and secondly, there are no facts that speak of it (the virus) came from there, either directly or indirectly."

He said that this institute is "very good, and there are fully qualified cadres.

They have worked for many years and studied a variety of viruses, including coronaviruses, and they have many interesting results."

Didkov renewed his praise of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, stressing that it is "a good laboratory, but I say it is wonderful. Of course, they told us about their work, they showed us everything, and we saw everything."
