The World Health Organization (WHO) asked China to share information regarding the epidemiological situation of the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) in real-time so that other countries can respond promptly, during its meeting with Chinese officials, to discuss the significant rise in the number of Coronavirus infections there.

The WHO said, in a new statement, that it held a high-level meeting with Chinese officials regarding the current increase in Corona cases, to obtain more information about the situation and provide expertise and support from the UN organization.

The organization stated that it had again requested the regular sharing of specific data about the epidemiological situation in real-time, including more data on the genetic sequence, the impact of the disease, cases requiring hospitalization and intensive care units, as well as about deaths, and the organization also requested access to data about vaccinations, especially for people at greatest risk over the age of 60.
