The White House spokeswoman, Karen Jean-Pierre, announced on Monday, that the United States (US) does not plan to send F-16 fighters to Ukraine, despite the arrival of Ukrainian pilots in US.

"The president talked about the issue of F-16 fighters, as you know. Nothing has changed in what the president said," Jean-Pierre said, during a press conference, in response to a question about the possibility of supplying Ukraine with "F-16" fighters.

Earlier, the US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, confirmed that the United States believes that Ukraine does not need F-16 fighter jets now.

It is worth mentioing that, Biden announced that he is ruling out providing Ukraine with F-16 fighters at the present time, given that Kiev does not need them now.

He added that the Ukrainian army needs tanks, artillery and air defense systems, including HIMARS launchers, adding, "There are things that Zelensky needs now, which we are being sent to him so that he can succeed."

"The United States will support Ukraine as much as it takes to defeat Russia," Biden said.
