WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging platform, is currently testing a new feature that allows users to customize a favorite list of contacts. In the latest beta version of the app, this feature will enable users to select their preferred contacts, which will then appear at the top of the call log.
The primary goal of this feature is to streamline communication with favorite contacts. These selected contacts will be prominently displayed in the call tab, facilitating one-touch calls to them.
This feature is already present in several other communication apps and is designed to prioritize the most important contacts for the user.
The new feature offers a personalized way to access favorite contacts, utilizing part of the available space in the call tab to display them, rather than just showing the call history.
It is worth noting that this new feature is specifically related to the call-making mechanism through the app's interface on mobile devices and does not pertain to messaging. WhatsApp already has a feature that allows pinning conversations to display chats with important contacts at the top of the chat tab.
WhatsApp continuously strives to enhance user experience by introducing new features to meet the needs of users who rely heavily on the app for internet-based calls.
The addition of contacts to the favorites in the call tab is still under trial in the app's beta version and is expected to be available in future final updates of the app.
