In a surprising move that some American media considered as a political maneuver, US President Donald Trump pledged an "orderly" transition of power”, in his first tweet since he was blocked by Twitter after his supporters stormed the capitol on Wednesday evening.
Trump said in a video message he posted on his Twitter account: "What happened in Washington was chaos and lawlessness, and I have directed the National Guard and federal law enforcement agencies to be immediately deployed to expel the attackers, our country respects the law."

“The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy,” he added.
“To those who engaged in the acts of violence and destruction, you do not represent our country. And to those who broke the law, you will pay. We have just been through an intense election and emotions are high, but now tempers must be cooled, and calm restored, he said.
