Waiting for Arab Summit Outcomes

Throny issues will be discussed during the upcoming Arab summit, which will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, amid great global and regional challenges and local problems in many countries. The summit is attended by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and many Arab leaders.

Many hot files impose themselves on the agenda of the summit. Some of these files have always been present for decades including the Palestinian cause, especially after Israel continued to strike Gaza last week, causing Palestinian casualties.

Among the most important issues to be discussed at the summit is the situation in brotherly Sudan. 

As for the second issue, it is the decision taken by the Arab foreign ministers unanimously in Cairo, headed by Sameh Shoukry, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, last Monday, in the session chaired by Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, to reinstate Syria's membership after its suspension more than 12 years ..

And just as May 7th became a historic day for the Arab will in which Damascus returned to its seat, I hope that the next May 19th Jeddah conference will become a historic conference when the Arabs gather at the level of the 32nd summit in the presence of President Bashar al-Assad, who received an official invitation to participate in the summit, which is The first invitation Damascus has received since the outbreak of chaos in Syria in 2011.

I think that the Jeddah summit will be a historic summit for joint Arab action, and its decisions will be reflected in the political and economic aspects in calming the situation in Sudan and Yemen, mitigating the effects of sanctions on Syria, and a push for the Saudi-Iranian rapprochement, to support the policy of good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries that Egypt has always called for. Egypt plays a pivotal and important role to create the atmosphere and support Arab integration, and  make  the Arab development summit in Mauritania and  Arab-African summit in Saudi Arabia succeed.  I expect that the decisions of the Jeddah Summit will will meet aspirations and hopes of the Arab peoples.
