 Vojvodina’s PM, Egypt’s Culture Min. Discuss Cultural Relations Btn Egypt, Serbia

Goran Mirovic, the Prime Minister of Vojvodina, received Dr. Inas Abdul Dayem, Egyptian Minister of Culture, during her official visit to the province of Vojvodina where they held a meeting to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

The two parties agreed that culture is the essential element of the identity of each country.

Mirovic said, “As Egypt has a great development potential, we seek to strengthen cooperation between the Egyptian and Serbian institutions; we want to continue supporting and deepening the communication between the two countries.”

He also pointed out to the strong and effective relations for more than 30 years, stressing that Egypt is a big country with its global rank as one of the oldest civilizations on earth, so it is an important country for Serbia.

He added that the Egyptian participation and presence, in this event of choose Novi Sad as the capital of culture, is an effective addition to the richness of Egyptian culture and art, explaining that the city includes the oldest cultural institutions including Serbian theater dating back to 1865.

This city- Novi- was the location of the book publication and it played an influential role in the cultural Serbian movement.

He expressed his will to support cooperation and to exchange experiences between the artists and creators of both countries because culture is the best way to link between nations.

On her part, Abdel Dayem congratulated the Prime Minister for choosing Novi Sad as the capital of European culture.

She said that she admired the artistic and marvelous aspects on the walls of the buildings and roads.

She expressed her desire to intensify creative activities to increase the cultural and intellectual cooperation in this modern phase, investing in the idea of soft power, especially that the province of Vojvodina has a regional minister of culture- Dragana Milosevic - who is an artist and violinist.

Consequently, this will help to establish a strong partnership and integration of cultural and artistic projects that will strengthen relations between the two countries.
