Fellow journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh mourned his son, journalist Hamza Al-Dahdouh, who was martyred as a result of an aerial bombardment by the Israeli occupation.

Wael Al-Dahdouh praised his son and said that he was kind to his parents and sisters.

Al-Dahdouh said: “There is nothing more difficult than the pain of loss, so how about if it was the firstborn? The pleasure of my liver was everything.” With those words, Wael Al-Dahdouh, correspondent for Al-Jazeera News Channel, mourned the death of his firstborn son, the martyr journalist Hamza Wael Al-Dahdouh, a short while ago, as a result of a bombing. An Israeli targeted a journalists' car in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, taking him with the martyr, journalist Mustafa Thuraya.

Al-Dahdouh said, in his first comment on the martyrdom of Hamza, joining the rest of his family members who were martyred at the beginning of the Gaza war last October during an air strike: We cry, but they are tears of humanity, generosity, and chivalry, not tears of fear and submissiveness.. After the loss of the family and the loss of Hamza, we are continuing our work. But the whole world must look at what is happening in the Gaza Strip. What is happening is injustice to us as journalists. It has been said that the work of journalists is guaranteed by international conventions, and yet the blood of journalists is being shed in Gaza. What moves us is humanity and what moves our enemies is hatred.
