US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will meet with Chinese Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Liu He, later this week, in Switzerland to discuss the economies of the US and China as tensions escalate between the two world powers.
Yellen is expected to meet Liu in person for the first time in Zurich ahead of scheduled visits to three countries in sub-Saharan Africa later this week, according to "The Hill" newspaper.
The meeting of the economic officials follows the G20 conference talks between US President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping last year, during which they agreed that their top officials should stay in touch.
