US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin expressed to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant his dissatisfaction with the Israeli strike against aid workers in Gaza, according to a Pentagon statement.
The Pentagon confirmed that Austin stressed to Gallant the need to take immediate action to protect aid workers and civilians in Gaza and to increase aid through all crossings.
The Pentagon explained that Washington has not yet obtained from Israel a detailed plan regarding any possible operation in Rafah, stressing that Israel has not exerted enough to protect civilians in Gaza.
