The US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Wednesday that 6,000 Americans and 123,000 civilians have been evacuated from Kabul, according to the Al-Arabiya News agency.
He added that the evacuation process has constituted a historic achievement.
Last Wednesday, the US Congress revealed that at least 4,100 US citizens are in Afghanistan, amid attempts to evacuate them.
Three weeks ago, former Afghanistanian President Ashraf Ghani fled the country as the Taliban moved further into Kabul.
His countrymen and foreigners alike raced for the exit, signaling the end of a 20-year Western experiment aimed at remaking Afghanistan.
