US President Receives Japanese PM at White House

US President Joe Biden received on Wednesday, Japanese Prime Minister (PM) Fumio Kishida at the White House on an official visit, to discuss ways to deepen defense relations as well as security and economic cooperation.

This visit is considered the first by a Japanese leader to the United States in nine years.

In his speech - broadcast by CNN TV channel- during his reception with Kishida, Biden stressed that the two countries form a stronger defense partnership than ever before, adding that the economic relationship between them is the strongest and deepest in the world, and the alliance between them is the pillar of peace, security and prosperity in the region.

Furthermore, US President praised what he described as "the Japanese Prime Minister's courage in condemning the Russian aggression against Ukraine two years ago, isolating Russia, and providing billions to support Ukraine."
