The US Embassy in Cairo announced this afternoon its willing to support Art D'Egypte for the second year through its fourth "Forever is Now" exhibition. The announcement came through an official statement issued today.
The statement expressed, "Through our $175,000 contribution, we are funding the participation of two Americans - Simon Watson, a New York-based curator, art advisor, and cultural event marketing specialist, and Kris Kuramitsu, curator and head of program at “The Mistake Room” in Los Angeles.
Our sponsorship is also making possible the participation of several artists in the exhibition and helping to cover a portion of the overall production costs associated with the year-long event."
The exhibition is going to be organized "against the back drop of the UNESCO world heritage site at the Giza Plateau," according to the statement.
“We support Art D’Egypte’s unique vision of showcasing contemporary Egyptian art through the lens of the country’s historic past. Art D’Egypte’s promotes Egypt’s vibrant art scene, while simultaneously raising awareness of the importance of preserving its rich cultural heritage” the US Ambassador to Egypt Jonathan R. Cohen expressed in the statement.
Art D’Égypte is a private Egyptian company that provides art consultancy services. Being a multidiscipline artistic company, it provides services to institutions, corporations, and private collectors.
It also has strong ties with artists, auction houses, art centers and foundations, art projects, public spaces, museums.
This month, Art D’Égypte is continuing its "Eternal Light II" exhibition for supporting the Egyptian contemporary art.
