The Embassy of the United States in Cairo is proud to announce that the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters will be in Egypt May 27-June 3.  The U.S. Embassy is thrilled to partner with this legendary American sports institution to foster cultural exchange and connections between the Egyptian and American people.

“The Harlem Globetrotters represent diversity, perseverance, and pure love of the game,” U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Herro Mustafa Garg said. “We are so proud to support this program as a testament to the enduring cultural partnership between the Egyptian and American people and as further proof of Egypt’s leading role in global tourism, sports, and the creative industry throughout the Middle East.”

The Harlem Globetrotters are a team built on diversity and committed to bringing together people from all backgrounds and physical abilities to foster cultural exchange and community pride. While in Egypt, the Harlem Globetrotters will conduct community basketball clinics with women athletes and youth groups, in addition to an event with wheelchair basketball players from the Al Hassan Foundation for Differently Abled Inclusion. Before each match, the Globetrotters will invite young Egyptian basketball players and special needs athletes to participate in their trademark “Magic Pass” program, giving the participants a unique chance to interact with players one-on-one.

Tickets are free to the general public. The Harlem Globetrotters will play two games in Cairo on May 31 at Hasan Mostafa Arena in 6th of October. The team will also play in Alexandria on June 1 at the Alexandria Sporting Club. The ticket registration portal is managed by The Egypt Athletes Forum, organized by iChamp. Please visit EgyptAthletesForum to register for your free tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime event!

Select audience members will have the opportunity to win a variety of exciting prizes, including basketballs autographed by The Harlem Globetrotters.

Audience members will also receive free give-away bags with information about U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs, including sports and education programs for secondary and university students.  In Alexandria, the Embassy will host an information booth for attendees to speak with American diplomats and Embassy staff about educational/cultural programs and professional exchange opportunities.

The U.S. Embassy would like to express its gratitude to Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) for their unique partnership in helping to bring the Harlem Globetrotters to Egypt.
