US State Department: Washington Intends to Provide Assistance to Poor, Developing Countries to Face Climate Change

The regional spokesperson for the US State Department, Samuel Wahlberg, stressed today, Monday, that Washington believes that climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity.

He added that the USA and major countries intend to provide the necessary assistance to poor and developing countries to support this important issue.

Wahlberg said - in a statement to (the Al Arabiya) channel on the sidelines of the COP27 climate conference - that US President Joe Biden pledged to provide $11 billion every year to support the climate cause.

He affirmed that the US administration has some orientations on the issue of climate change in general and it also has some priorities in the climate conference.

The US official explained that there are many achievements and alternative energy projects not only in Western countries but that Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have all achieved great achievements in the field of solar and wind energy.
