The United States had approved the sale of the Israeli Arrow-3 missile system to Germany, the Israeli Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday.
The ministry said that the deal, worth $3.5 billion, is the largest defense deal in Israel's history.
Last June, the German Parliament (Bundestag) allocated the first batch of the defense budget to purchase the Israeli Arrow-3 anti-missile system, within the framework of the rearmament that was decided after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The Arrow-3 system is designed to intercept ballistic missiles outside the Earth's atmosphere.
It is also the highest among Israel's missile defense systems, which range from Iron Dome, which intercepts short-range missiles, to long-range Arrow-3 missiles that destroy unconventional warheads at a safe altitude.
The German Air Force is expected to receive the Arrow-3 system by 2025.
