US Ambassador Herro Mustafa Garg visited Al-Arish and the Rafah border crossing to follow up on the implementation of the ongoing ceasefire agreement and the opening of the Rafah crossing as stipulated in the agreement, according to a statement from the US Embassy in Cairo today.
During her visit, the ambassador met with Major General Khaled Megawer, Governor of North Sinai, and expressed her gratitude to the Egyptian government for its role as a major partner in reaching a ceasefire agreement, and stressed Egypt’s decisive role in ensuring regional stability.
Additionally, Ambassador Herro Mustafa met with humanitarian relief agencies to ensure that U.S. emergency food aides reach the civilian population in Gaza.
