The United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP) has warned that food supply chains in Ukraine are in danger of collapsing due to the ongoing clashes on the country's territory.

It is worth noting that Russian forces swept over Ukrainian territories on February 24.

The emergency coordinator for the Ukrainian crisis in the World Food Program, Jacob Kern, stressed today, Friday, according to "Reuters", that supply chains in Ukraine are collapsing, noting that part of the infrastructure has been destroyed and many food stores and warehouses in this country are empty now.

The UN official also expressed concern about the situation in besieged cities such as Mariupol, saying that food reserves there are running out and that WFP convoys cannot reach this city because of ongoing Russian attacks
