Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, thanked Namark and Australia for joining the donor countries that have maintained or increased their funding and those that recently announced their contribution to UNRWA at this critical time that Gaza and the region are going through.
Lazzarini added in a statement, saying: Your support is a testimony to your commitment to humanitarian principles and the plight of #Palestine_refugees during an unprecedented crisis.
He concluded his statement by saying: I hope that other donors who have temporarily suspended their contributions will make a similar announcement and support the Agency in order to stop widespread hunger in Gaza and that the Agency will remain a lifeline for Palestine refugees throughout the region.
