“I welcome the appointment by the UN Secretary-General of an independent review team to conduct an assessment on ensuring UNRWA’s impartiality and responding to allegations of serious violations when they occur,” said UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini.
He added: I look forward to the results and recommendations of the report, which will be published publicly.
“This independent external review will take place in parallel with the investigation currently being conducted by the United Nations Office of Internal Oversight Services,” he concluded.
