The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) launched on Sunday its new country program for children in Egypt for 2023-2027.

UNICEF’s country program is the planning framework for all of UNICEF's strategic interventions in Egypt to protect and promote the rights of children and young people, according to a statement released by UNICEF.

The event was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the presence of Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF Representative in Egypt, H.E. Ambassador Khaled Al-Bakli, Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights, Eng. Nevine Othman, Secretary General of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood and representatives of relevant ministries and national councils.

During the launch event, Hopkins presented UNICEF’s new country program 2023-2027, which is in line with national priorities, Egypt's Vision 2030, and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Moreover, he praised the leadership and cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through consultation sessions held with all partner ministries, authorities and institutions, along with development partners, during the preparation of UNICEF's new 2023-2027 country program.

The event also included a presentation of the results of UNICEF's ongoing program by UNICEF personnel.
