A Security Council vote on the Gaza conflict was delayed until Tuesday while negotiations over the document's wording continued, according to reports.
The United Arab Emirates, which had proposed the draft resolution calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza, has requested that the vote, originally scheduled for Monday, be postponed by a day.
The resolution aims to ensure that Israel and Hamas allow aid access to the Gaza Strip through land, sea, and air routes and establish UN monitoring of the humanitarian assistance delivered. The draft resolution's fate depends on the outcome of the final negotiations.
“We have engaged constructively and transparently throughout the entire process to unite around a product that will pass,” said a US official.
